Sing me to sleep
Sanity
grips as it leaves
people die
and are conceived
as the days roll passed
tomorrow comes
with an early night
but not all
experience the fall
and savor it all
just like the man
who left his paper
the sailor curses
and draws his rapier
and when the lonely die
and the empty cry
its same thing
day after day
sing me to sleep
dreams graves
the needle in arms
and un-freed slaves
nightmares for which I am
afraid
the sight of the doomed
begging to be saved
the cuts on there knees
the child begging
and the mother who says pleas
my fears and your reality
the ugly truth
and all the damning proof
points at are own
and when the walls start to fall
it seems were all alone
abandoned
by the ones who leave us stranded.
