The Shadows          The Light

One step from the Shadows,
One step from finding light.
Which one do I run to?
Which one, for me, is right?
Cant say I'm a good guy,
Nor can I say I'm bad.
I lean more towards the Shadows,
The only thing I often had.
One step from a new life,
One step from finding place.
I look more to the lights,
But often find a dark embrace.
Which way will I wander?
Which way is calling me?
Can I stay in the middle?
From both chains can I be free?
Feels good just to think so,
But who the fuck am I kidding?
Most think I'd choose the Light,
They're the ones that don't know me.
Shadows offered me embrace,
Lights were always scalding hot.
They're too busy shining,
To see that it's all for naught.
But there in the Shadows,
There's a place that's just for you.
You can do as you please,
No one judges what you do.
Cause they do in the Shadows,
What others try to hide in Light.
They're all true to desire,
While in the light they try to hide.
One foot in the Shadows,
One more the Lights will fade.
Feels like it's Home to me,
How I love it's great embrace.
But, please, don't you follow me,
Make your choice accordingly.
Once you're here the Light will see,
And from then on will be scalding.
