I used to think I knew

Come walk with me
beyond this place
that takes an onion's cue,
in a laughing sense
with sadness mixed with
a galaxy's point of view,

I used to think I knew when
the poet came to life, perhaps
back in the days of enlightenment
where Humphry Davy dropped
his basket at the penny university,
or where the last great alchemist
was never revered as a scientist,

this isn't a confession or anything, but
there is a boy, and there is a girl,
a chin gets bitten, sweetly, they kiss,

yet they're missing testaments
of entropy, ecology, biology,
thermodynamics and physics,
chemistry, geology, sociology,
history, sun dried underpants,
shared philosophy and aloneness,
principles of heretics, Dirt,
and not knowing what to do with it,

Casablanca, chemical romance,
and the death of greatness,
the love of my life
looking directly at the moon,

the decency of forgiveness
where there's no measure until
a heart starts beating of truth,
page after page of whiteness as if
they knew the waking laughter,

I have broken my heart again tonight,
and I will always and forever love you,

I did not know of, or your own pain,
and I am so sorry, there is no measure,
I laugh hysterically for you, my love of life
for every deserving moment, a fit with rage,
and it’s so deep, and then never again,
only for you I write page after page,
where there is no rhythm or anything
until a heart starts beating again,
how could I have combed through endless seas
where memories were fallen tokens that we knew,
draw near to me, just one more time,
my sweetheart, and let me walk with you,
