EAGLE
Show me a crystal that is clear or a clear way worth walking
Or a forgiveness appreciated that was just given away
Or a wise word heard when foolish men are talking
Or a prize valued more than love that was not prised away.
Then show me bright lights, make up, entrance and stage exit
Show me nights we existed, entranced, dreamed of, made love,
Blue moon, rainbow, or a star fall that sheamed like a bullet
And I'll show you an eagle that found the peace of a dove.

Re: EAGLE
in complete honesty, i initially had a problem with a few word choices, but after several reads, i am entirely wrapped into the spirit of this thing
there is a real ethereal, real something floating under this thing...and i find it lovely
thank you for the read

Thank you for that honesty LB - the oft repeated words of poetry can be cloying but they're repeated because they mean something to us all - and love is all... and its about the girl I love named Eagle

I like the rhyming, it's something
that, when well used, is a great
tool to keep on you...
it's a really attractive piece...

With my music saturated brain, this reminds of The Pretenders' song, "Show Me".

Searching for something, not knowing what's missing, but sensing it's gone. It can take years to realise that love was always there waiting, waiting for a lover to find themselves.
Whale, if your poetic mind was used for evil, it would be on the worlds most wanted list of criminal masterminds, infamous for capturing the minds of your readers and holding them to ransom, until they'd pay for your latest release of poetry collections.
Well done, Sir. I'm adding this romantic kidnapper to my reading list.
