He sees her from accross the room
She pretends she doesnt know
He would see her from accross the world
If he thought she sought him so....

Invisible he seemed to always be
She barely knew his existence
The miniscule amount of hope on his face
kept him barely as a witness

to her laughing and planning
lavish trips to explore-
the world from the eyes of
a young lady at shore.

Soon, the sails would surely whisk her away
to a new land with some new man
and that was ok..*

He only wanted a moment '
just once, recognition
for all of his efforts
he had always kept hidden

Alas, it was not meant to be spoken-
or the feelings he felt would  reveal  his shame
She couldn't acknowledge what never was there
His couldn't do more than just smile and wave....
