The Constitution ENDORSES Religion

The First Amendment protects "the free exercise [of religion]".
Since the Amendments have become part of the Constitution itself,
this means the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion.
But why does this amount to an endorsement of religion??

By the Founding Fathers giving space
In the Constitution to Freedom of Religion,
This amounts to them saying religion is IMPORTANT,
Well DESERVING of that coveted space.
That by itself amount to an endorsement of religion!

If the Founding Father had written this amendment,
"Fishing shall not be banned anywhere in the USA,"
this would have elevated the sport of fishing
to a level of great importance simply by reason
of its being included explicitly in the Constitution.

It would have been an endorsement of fishing,
Wouldn't it? Anybody with a brain stem can see that much.
Well, the protecting of religion, likewise,
(simply by it being IN THE CONSTITUTION)
equals an endorsement of it,religion.

What's more, the Founding Fathers put
the protection of "the free exercise [of religion]"
in the very first of the ammendments, the First Amendment.
This is like saying that religion ranks first in importance.
How can that not amount to a tacit endorsement of religion??

WHAT IS THE POINT?
The First Amendment says,"Congress shall not
respect an establishment of religion."
Thru "case law" this has morphed into:
"The government shall not endorse religion in any way."
This is a gross mishandling of that part of the amendment.
"Establishment of religion" should mean something BEYOND
the basic minimal endorsement of generic religion.
For THAT much is already a GIVEN,
By virtue of the endorsement of religion
In the "Free Exercise" clause!

If endorsement by the government is wrong,
- And the Constitution is synonymous with the government -
Then the "Free Exercise" clause should be removed
from the First Amendment.
No, that would not be a good solution.
