A proverbial Zeus high
Upon his very own snowflaked Mount Olympus
Occasionally wiping at the frosted snot in his nose
Hurls such stinging javelins of lightning
In attempts to strike down those he deems
Lesser gods and greater mortals
Fearing they seek to dethrone his
Declaration of Greek Godly status
In the silence occurring between
Each of these egotistical thrusts
Penetrating the waxy buildup in his ears is
Laughter
Echoing through the valleys
From across the burning sun glazed seas
And cresting desert tides
Emitted from a solitary Blazing Bassia
Grounded on another far off mountaintop
Rooted deep in the reality of myth
Where verse is diligently chiseled
Into stone tablets handed down freely
To generations of awed idol worshippers
And starstruck yearning masses
Eagerly awaiting the latest testament
To hit the magazine rack
