Shallow World
Hollow, empty, shallow world,
Behind the eyes of sleep unfurled,
Laying with sirens who drowned in the sea,
There lies a world unknown to me.
Below the moon, beneath the stars,
Betwixt the sun and the body of mars,
A planet comprised of blood and rust,
-Of plastic, of rubber and of human lust.
A hive of writhing, parasitic worms,
Spreading industry as fast as germs,
Like a tide-pool disturbed and slowly swirled,
Unbalance and disruption, in a shallow world.
Behind the eyes of sleep unfurled,
Laying with sirens who drowned in the sea,
There lies a world unknown to me.
Below the moon, beneath the stars,
Betwixt the sun and the body of mars,
A planet comprised of blood and rust,
-Of plastic, of rubber and of human lust.
A hive of writhing, parasitic worms,
Spreading industry as fast as germs,
Like a tide-pool disturbed and slowly swirled,
Unbalance and disruption, in a shallow world.
