It Can Never Happen [ personal poem]

We are the best of friends and we will always be friends till the end.
You are with me through thick and thin and we are in it to win.
But, my dear friend it can only stay this way.
You know everything that is on my mind,
And we share our secrets.
We've been through the bitterness and the sweetness.
Why only throw it away when it can stay this way?.
What would you say in the way you can tell me yourself?.
I'm so afraid of the way things could end up being,
Just a touch and you could cross the line.
Why sit there and whine about being just friends and ruin the special thing we have?.
I feel the love, but I don't feel that way.
Each day is a beautiful memory for me,
We are the team that no one could ever come in between.
Don't ever let me see you make a fool out of me and you.
As friends we are closer than family, we are one.
There's really nothing you can do about it,
The past is said and done so why change it's history?.
It's a mystery to me why you would feel this way.
I don't want to put you in misery, but just why me?.
Why can't we just move on along with our lives?.
You can't make me feel something that isn't in my heart.
Why are you making feel as if I decline what you feel I'll tear you apart?.
Your attempts to intrigue me seem to be as subtle as a gun,
None were ever successful to ever try and take me away from the one I call my own.
You know everything about me yet except you try your best to get your way,
Why can't you just accept it can never happen between us?.
