She wakes alone
Two souls yearning for true love

He enters in
the small cafe
to buy a cup of
coffee

She’s sitting there
lost in her book
looks up when he starts
speaking

It cannot be
him standing there
she feels her skin start
tingling

His eyes meet hers
they share a smile
they had been longtime
lovers

Turning away
to pay his tab
he looks as she’s just
leaving

He let her go
12 years years before
a choice that left him
grieving

Back then she ran
because he loved
solely his mistress
Wall Street

He rushes out
calling her name
his heart, the street were
empty
mp
Reentering in
the small cafe
to sit where she’d been
seated

When on the chair
he finds a book
the one that she’d been
reading

She marked page 12
there wrote a note
that made his heart start
singing

Let’s turn the page
forget what’s past
begin a brand new
chapter

Please come to me
if you still care
I live at the same
address

He quickly leaves
looks for a shop
to buy her long-stemmed
roses

He’s at her door
She lets him in
mind, heart and soul and
body

He starts to speak
she says please don’t
just hold me close and
kiss me

pressed to his chest
she feels his manhood

Guiding him in
filled to her core
she whispers welcome

Sound the horns
ecstasy's fanfare
let the climatic

cries of loves consummation

Thank you so much, Katja. As you know, I was skeptical that I could make something of this powerful piece of music. Then the story just started to flow. I have, in the process, gained a new love for Carmina Burana. Thank you for this challenge.

A powerful piece that kept washing waves of sadness over me. For, in a sense, all loves are doomed by the very nature of life itself. But how utterly beautiful and fulfilling while the flame burns!
