Le dieu de la mer
I searched among the skies,
For something to bring me down,
Yet a thousand and one piercing eyes-
-Foresaw that I should drown.
Your scaly body and spine,
Are made in his design,
Swelling currents become shallow,
The leviathan ascends from the brine.
I bethought myself to be empty,
Drifting upon the sea,
Neigh, for the shadowy infinity,
Is that which is to be.
Sinking lower, to the sandy bed,
The ocean floor rumbles alive,
The violent echo of countless dead-
-Shall trumpet as he doth arrive.
Not all the chains beneath-
-Could hold this God of mine,
For when I bear the crimson wreath,
It channels the five pointed sign.
Across the oceans they shall hear us cry,
‘Emerald eyes, behold the night!’
For the serpent titan, who birthed the lie-
-Is swimming towards the light.
For something to bring me down,
Yet a thousand and one piercing eyes-
-Foresaw that I should drown.
Your scaly body and spine,
Are made in his design,
Swelling currents become shallow,
The leviathan ascends from the brine.
I bethought myself to be empty,
Drifting upon the sea,
Neigh, for the shadowy infinity,
Is that which is to be.
Sinking lower, to the sandy bed,
The ocean floor rumbles alive,
The violent echo of countless dead-
-Shall trumpet as he doth arrive.
Not all the chains beneath-
-Could hold this God of mine,
For when I bear the crimson wreath,
It channels the five pointed sign.
Across the oceans they shall hear us cry,
‘Emerald eyes, behold the night!’
For the serpent titan, who birthed the lie-
-Is swimming towards the light.
