My Mind

I'm in jail
But it has no bars
Don't try to run
You won't get far
For this place is a maze
A cage without a cage

There's so much light in here
But I still can't see
Opening my eyes wider
To escape the darkness in me
A light so bright
Is so dim on me

It's strange how I feel so alone
When almost every cell has people
But one had half a man
One was labeled "Envy"
The next was "Greed"
I saw so much of this in me
Five in each room
The third one was half a man
He looked sick in "Pride's" land
And so the labels continued

At the top of the stairs
One word sat
"Thoughts"
That cell was so long
This one didn't have people
Instead it had pictures
Picture of paintings, objects, and words
They started out small with toys and baseball
The bigger ones had quotes and knives

On the end of that
Was a list of mishaps
Long enough to be a book
All the things I did wrong
All the things that were overlooked
Just a list of my wrong doing
Makes me think about the path I'm choosing

The next floor had flaws
Reminding me of the first
Instead of "Envy" I saw "Beauty"
Instead of "Greed" I saw "Need"
And "Pride" replaced with "Dishonor"
There was a mirror in the middle
Like the tails of Sleeping Beauty
Of course it didn't say
Who was the fairest of them all
It went with the theme of the floor
It stated all of your flaws

I finally found the entrance
Up some creepy old creepy stairs
I tried to unlock the door
To my surprise a note was there
"This is your mind,
No way out of here"
It was written by my self conscience

By now I just let go
By Walked up some other stairs
For this place is a maze
A cage without a cage


-It's not that good but It's just how I feel at the moment. I thought of a jungle but I'm not that complicated.
