Not Yet
I am not ready to give up
Dance with me once more
Let me feel your warmth
Upon my body
Let me feel your breath
Upon my neck
Let’s twirl again on the dance floor
Make me feel young and alive
Take the strength from my legs
Let me feel safe in your arms and
Fill the emptiness in my heart
With your love
Dance with me once more
Let me feel your warmth
Upon my body
Let me feel your breath
Upon my neck
Let’s twirl again on the dance floor
Make me feel young and alive
Take the strength from my legs
Let me feel safe in your arms and
Fill the emptiness in my heart
With your love

A dance that I won't give up, just yet. Thanks for the comment and stopping by John.

Xmar82, luv :-* ~
This is poignant and lovely and a bit heart-wrenching as well.
There is the sense here that this might be a last dance, a final one before a goodbye, so there's a hint of melancholy running through this and that touch of tender pain is what makes this poem that much more heartfelt and aching.
It may be nothing more than the last dance of the evening, but there's still that touch of finality and that does it.
The line that fair takes my breath is "take the strength from my legs" which says so much so incredibly eloquently in such a small space...

The dying of love is always a sad thing. The lover fights to re-kindle it even in its last moments. Thanks for reading Savaja. You're most welcome here.
