I Was Only Teasing
From where I sat on the bus
Applying eyeliner, blush, lipstick
I caught you gazing at me
In the reflection of my compact
Finished, I smiled mischeviously
Tongued my lips deliciously
And winked back
I was only teasing
Noticing that your interest peaked
I decided to play a game
Holding the mirror at an angle
I hiked my miniskirt
Further up a paring of goosefleshed thighs
Oh, the look in your eyes
But I was only teasing
Gingerly, I uncrossed my legs
Spreading them a little further apart
A little wider
Farther
Until my shaven nether region
Was completely exposed to the world
You were on the edge of your seat
And still I was only teasing
Then,
Reaching down with my free hand
And with the index finger
Began searching, slowly at first
Through the pink glistening folds
Until necessity on my behalf
Demanded a more ferocious dexterity
Still teasing, teasing, teasing
Eyelids closing
Imagining other passengers taking notice
Quivering, my entire body
Simultaneously warm and cold
Unable to collar the adrenaline rush
This public exhibition culminating
In my rising inches above the seat
Cheeks flushed hot with strain
As I contained vocalizing
My delight and enthusiasm
By biting down on my lower lip
And I
I
I was
Only just
Teasing
The driver brought the bus to a halt
Panicked, I pulled my skirt back into place
Grabbed my purse and hurriedly
Breathlessly, exited
Without looking back
Finding myself alone on a city sidewalk
Dazed and lightheaded
The compact in my other hand
Upon regaining a modicum of composure
I checked to see if my hair was in order
And you were present in the reflection
Still watching me
Applying eyeliner, blush, lipstick
I caught you gazing at me
In the reflection of my compact
Finished, I smiled mischeviously
Tongued my lips deliciously
And winked back
I was only teasing
