For Whom The Belle Tolls

(written for the "Beauty And The Beast" competition)

Click, click
Her heels slowly echo off the floor.

She takes a drag from her cigarette,
The end flaring up in a glow of orange,
Burning
Like her eyes.

Click, click
She circles ‘round them,
Eyeing the girls,
Her girls,
The working girls.

Click, click
Madame Belle they call her.

She derives a perverse pleasure,
From watching them squirm under her gaze—
Cindy-rella, Snow, Aurora, Jasmine, Ariel,
The Indian One…

Click, click
“Prada isn’t cheap, ladies”
She sneers, taking another drag,
“So if you want to continue to reap the benefits of my employ,
We’re going to step it up a notch.”

The red flags go up in their souls
As Belle pulls the sheet off the cage before them,
Revealing a hideous Beast.

They gasp.

Click, click

“That’s right ladies,
In addition to your regular customers,
I have one special one for each of you to share.
Behold the Beast!
And you shall each bear children of this monster
That we may ensure a solid future for our Best Little Whorehouse In Disney,
With a new generation
And more to whore.

Now,
Who’s first?”
