Rebelations 0110
Forbidden lust, must we indulge ourselves in the bedlam -
And the mayhem of a treacherous path that leads to the unknown?
Even at the hint of perdition, were we to give in to our lavish desires,
Mired at the warnings, we are still curious down to the bone.
And the more depraved the act the more it pervades the soul,
Haunting in constant thoughts and ideas that swell the senses,
Even with the knowledge that there is no possibility to atone,
Satisfying the wants more than the needs, some of us still take the chances.
And the vexing fringe that is to be so close and yet a life away,
Satisfies the eye but torments the mind all at once,
Living in a world of passionate deliriums and words untold,
We fight the impulse, the madness and all that constantly taunts.
So, is it in our nature to yearn for that which is forbidden?
Battling the restless urges relentless but with great decorum?
Only to dwell in the imagination of it all, vicarious visions that appall,
With the rebelations of the consequences of the unknown
Our instincts know full well the end result
Yet we are still curious down to the bone.
