Image for the poem Alone

Alone

Wake up in your bed at night
extinguish every source of light
and turn to left all that was right
keep writing poetry so trite
and throw away all that was bright
I have my ears don't need my sight
now sit back on your bed real tight
and listen to your demons fight

yellowed snow and fallen flakes
the encore of what summer makes
and ghastly glowing frozen lakes
too frozen for your thirst to slake
my head throbs and my back still aches
when summer comes I'll go get baked
cause life's a lovely Christmas cake
the gift that comes then takes and takes

the fossite in your sink will drone
while darkness chills you to the bone
your happiness is on it's own
smoking that drug while in the zone
broken glass and telephones
and shaded colors monotone
that coffin will become your home
and still you will be all alone.
