THE CONCEIVING NUN

 Why I’m not surprised at all
to see a pregnant nun?
I was brought up to believe
the virgin mother of Jesus
gave birth to the saviour of sinners
and have seen priests
fathered some sons
not only to nuns.

What analogy could someone make
to trick a god-loving nun to procreate;
making love is so much fun,
as long as you’re not wresting with a gun
and I guess you enjoyed it hun!

Could you please tell me
who is the father of your son?
Is it the handsome young priest
or your former boyfriend – the atheist?
He was the main reason why
your Catholic parents
sent you to the convent
only to be disgraced
with your act of protest.

No matter what the reason is
the sight of a pregnant nun is still taboo,
hope you thought of it a thousand times
before committing such childish act
or is it just the sign of the changing times?
Who are we to condemn you,
if it’s in the name of love…
we are all sinners, just the same.
