I Watched You Sleeping
In the conservatory on the settee it was a bright sunny day and you looked so peaceful
Your face was relaxed and serene and your nostrils flared ever so slightly
Your lips were softly closed and you chin was at an angle
Every few minutes your neck gulped for a little air but you slept on
I could just make out you pink bra strap peeking out from your black vest
Your stripy trousers slightly pulled up over your ankles
Your feet just splayed apart thankful to be off the floor
I just sat opposite you watching you rest
Your tummy rose and fell and your chest breathed very shallowly
There was no sound breaking the moment it was just me and you alone and together
I like watching you sleeping
