Snow

Snow is red
I don't believe others when they say it's white
I've seen it red
And warm
I saw my sister laying there...
not moving
Her eyes wide in fear
Her skin ice cold and blue
Her clothes ruined by red
Her hair sticky with red
Her face splattered with red
The snow around her was red
My knees felt cold once they landed into the snow
My hands were warm though,
they fell into the red snow
My tears.almost froze as they fell from my face
Screams pierced through the air,
deafening my ears
I realized it was me
My sister twitched...
but that was it
Her stomach,
ripped open and organs splayed all around her
In her hand, which was once trembling,
laid her investing heart
Teeth laid near her mouth,
bloody drops surrounding them
Black holes replacing the missing teeth
One, two, three, four, five, six
Six long, open scars were slashed all around her face
She was missing one of her boots
The left one
Her sock was torn and half of her foot was gone
A bloody, boney stump on my sister's foot
Blood leaked out of her mouth,
like some sick & twisted faucet
I grabbed my sister's partially stiff, empty hand,
sobbing and screaming
"I love little girls..."
My eyes widened in the same fear as my little sister's
"I love them so much..."
I didn't turn around
Fear paralyzed me
"Come here, little girl..."
I could already feel the pain my sister felt
More tears spilt from my eyes
The snow...
became black that day
