I Refuse

I refuse to die.
I refuse to be born again.
I refuse to be erased, immediately transformed
Into new shape based on my past mistakes...

I refuse to seek Permission.
I refuse to gain Acceptance.

I forgive...
I forgive, regardless...
Regardless of Reward.
Regardless of nothingness.

Some may find wilderness in their body,
Some may find universe in their mind,
Some may find great meaning
To the motions of the evening,
Their dramas on the dance-floor...

Some may find great conclusion
To the logic of the label:

That man is machine,
And Nature no more than
Complex differing densities of the same essential unit,
Ceaselessly increasing into everything outside of itself...

But I, I refuse all this.

Originally this piece was separate and located in the book right after my previous posting "I Find No Words". I didn't feel it worthy enough to be on its own, so I was going to attach it to the end of the "I Find No Words" piece, but then decided to just do them separate. Now there has been a nice comment made on the "I Find No Words" poem, one which I'll have to think on for a night to say just the right way of "Thanks". So alas, they are destined to be separated, as originally penned!

Too many revision ideas! I'd be beaten to a pulp if I ever dared to post something on a Competition Thread - I'd want to re-edit my entries a hundred times! Alright, I gotta' get away from Poetry Land for a while, maybe tab over to look at the day's Stock Market Prices...
