A Poem for Ray, A Salvation Poem.

she told me she wasn't finna be baptized.
only cuz her motha married a preacher
… "how I'm gon get in that water when after i don't plan to act right"?
no need to play pretend about leaving the fast life..
but this aint yo last life ?
how you wanna live faeva?
in the sky lookin down
or in the depths of the ground
wearin a gasoline gown
burnin in side a furnace
neva to resurface

she began to make this face
like how can you be so certain
what if yo faith is worthless???


i replied it is.
and how well said
the bible taught me that faith without work is dead.

and a child taught me, tomorrow is never promised
1 year old baby beaten and buried by its mother and father.
so i just gotta be honest
do all you can now fck later is the mantra

we all live in sin a bunch of beautiful monsters.

but the lord don't ask for perfection
only practice ..
and i understand that getting sved and getting blazed might seem like u traveling backwards.
But God knows our hearts, so worry less about the physical, but you've got to get in the water first for a chance for that holy spirit to get into you. y

and once you've done that all the children of God will be kin to you
and the idea of liven right will become more simple too ..

you can sit patient and wait for some divine revelation. or divine intervention.
salvation aint expensive like our tithes and tuition..

but my God aint into hoping, my God aint into wishing
he's got it all planned out
one miraculous vision.




so jus know I'm prayin fa ya



that you hit that water ..
but only when your ready and willing.
