Thalidomide
When the doctors told us
right after you were born,
that you were oh so special,
not just to us, but to everyone.
The tears we cried have formed an ocean
in which we are now drifting far from you.
And there are walls you can't surpass
and so many things, you can not do.
But neither have we lost our hope,
nor will you ever lose support
for the things you want to do,
you can become an astronaut!
As you live in your own world
and nothing can reach inside,
I hope my love will make these walls crack,
so we can live side by side.
right after you were born,
that you were oh so special,
not just to us, but to everyone.
The tears we cried have formed an ocean
in which we are now drifting far from you.
And there are walls you can't surpass
and so many things, you can not do.
But neither have we lost our hope,
nor will you ever lose support
for the things you want to do,
you can become an astronaut!
As you live in your own world
and nothing can reach inside,
I hope my love will make these walls crack,
so we can live side by side.
