A Dance, A Devil, And the Sea

Down on the ocean,
Where the wind has ceased to blow,
A curtain of conformity,
Opened to a show.
And on that stage stood me,
On the ocean beach,
And opposite me, the devil,
Just close enough to reach.
The music strung up and we began,
Our dance that would not die,
For we have danced a thousand days,
And more, a thousand nights.
And forever we will dance and dance,
While waves then crash ashore,
And when the wave then crashes my heart,
I shall dance no more.
For I am forever keeping time,
With every step and beat,
Forever I am entwined with this devil,
Dancing at my feet.
And we dance and dance,
Along the ocean shore,
And until I die if ever,
I will dance no more.
But right now there is no sign of stopping,
This dance will continue on,
For I will dance ten thousand times,
When the world is gone.
And down that beach,
Right on the sand is where we dance for you,
Just on that shore of nevermore,
I dance with the devil in my view.
