THE HAIRPIN

(Inspired by the picture accompanying Tommie Lynn's "She is the other half", imagining what happens when her hair - in an old-fashioned bun in the picture - is let down by him.)

She asked him, “One more thing, if you dare;
Take out the pin holding up my hair.
I’ve let no one else set my hair free,
I’d like to feel it fall behind me.”

So he drew a hand behind her head,
Pulled out the pin as she intended.
It cascaded, a dark waterfall
Brushing down the back of her bared all.

She made a complete vision of Eve
Without fig leaves.  They began to cleave
Unto each other.  Nobody could part
The pair, now joined body, soul and heart.
