She spontaneously sends her number
In her view, 'unorthodox' behavior
He receives the pleasant message and smiles
An easy decision, a quick reply, then dial and savor
         
Her soft, intelligent voice he dreamt of so clear
Just the night before, images and sound, a slumbering meal
While he slept, her presence filled his every cell
He awoke wanting to call, but had no digits to seal
       
The spirit of it all, confusing to her at first
She includes this closing with her contact details
'??? don't know what I'm thinking'
Unable to sense he already knew, before the email

He calls, she answers, immediate comfort
In their exchange, words spill with mutual delight
He shares the dream, explains feeling justified
Especially after they converse, laughing into the night

Hours pass before it crosses her mind
"It is after 2:00 AM. My, how time flies!"
Another half hour passes in a flash and then
Before reluctantly offering goodbyes
Both wish to speak the next evening, unable to disguise
