Stereotypical Love Testimony

Drowning myself
in your denim
jacket while the
faint scent of
cologne lingers near.
With eyes closed,
my skin feels
fingertips
gently tracing
slopes familiar
to your touch.
Brushing against
my lips, lingering
there. Your image
fused in my
one track brain
inspires shouting
from treetops and
writing love letters.
My pathetic
attempts at
flattery appear
gut wrenchingly
predictable.
This pointless flattery
does love no
justice, leading to
lust, steam, and sex.
Here flattery
dissolves. Hidden
emotions can
be hard to hide.
Silently shouting
to you. Whispering
from treetops in
my mind. Composing
letters with
colorless ink
and invisible
stationary.
Me keeping
lips tightly closed
and pen from paper
prevents you from
knowing my
love. Better safe
than predictable.

((I imagine this poem being centered in the middle of the page, but clearly it can't be presented like that here. I think it reads more beautifully that way, but you get the idea))
