...And then again
There you stand
dressed in rags
a tearful notion
lies beneath
your distant eyes
needle in vain
drowning beneath your sea
a sea of pain
I can see what you and I
would have became
and I reframe
from regrets of breaking away
...and then again
I see the helpless
whish for a gasp of hope
that you cry for
while standing in a solitude of silence
memory filled with
all the vulgar violence
teeth of decay
blackened
brain of un-function
deadened
numbed by
your vice
I refuse remorse
protesting too your unwillingness
to change
...and then again I see
what I could have became
one just the same
though I stand not on cloud nine
upon the highest mountain
soaking up a stimulating sun
I lay out my hand
attempting to pull you
from the decaying debris
living with the knowledge
if I put forth a greater effort
you may be
somewhere id envy
in a proud sense
but as I try
and reach
you slip away
back in your dead cold eyes
into the life
from which I found you
though as long as you hold my hand
I will continue to grasp your's
