Silence of the Bells

Prologue

Prologue
Temptation has been brought upon me. Gabriel has warned me a many times against such feelings and the consequences. The thoughts are the worst though, nothing can compare to wanting the things that tempt you the most. Needing them. Many years have passed without them but now they bombard me at every waking hour. Crawling through the crevasses of my mind rampaging through my hopes and dreams.
“Call the tasks.” The voices called out.
At that moment they popped into my head and called, no screamed to me.
Michael was close. Closer than he usually liked to be. His nature being the first tier of angels made her less inclined to be near us, but she was.
“Do it.” The hissing Leviathan sneered in my ear.
They stayed closer than my so called “Guardians”. A name they gave them selves though they had never proved it to me. Not in the least.
“Zackarius, close your heart to those demons.” Michael’s beautiful voice called out. “You must have faith in us and God.” The melody in his voice calmed me for only moment but the fire came back, it always did.
He did not know what had been planned. It had always been planned. What they had in store for him and the six was unimaginable and I did not care. Nothing anyone would do could save me from the forces at play. Leviathan and his legions of demons were at play.
“You choose your own fate. We are only here to guide you through life and help you make the right decisions.” Gabriel’s last words to a human.
