Fork in the Road

Skipping down life's road one day
Whistling in a merry old way
Came to a fork in the road
Couldn't choose, so I followed the toad

He hopped down a slippery slope
Jumped off a bridge, swung on a rope
I was close behind
Thinking I'm out of my mind

He slowed, and paused on a rock
Turned around I stopped my walk
"Why are you following me
Don't you have somewhere to be?"

I didn't know what to do
I followed this frog without a clue
Now we're here, in this lonely  place
Lost, in the middle of this space

Seems I have to leave this toad
Return back to the fork in the road
And think about the options for me
Think about who I want to be

Next time I have a choice
I'll stop and listen to my inner voice
Weigh the cost and benefit
And choose my advantage without prejudice
Making that direction definite!
