Defy Time

i am suffocating
i feel your ghost all around me
its touch triggering memories and moments
that i have to destroy, to live without you
how did this come to be
how did this beautiful dream
turn into such a torment, pulling at me
flashes of future moments appear before me
showing me what would be, what could be
what should be, but is not.
no one should have to live with this
and not have a purpose, a vision
shared or not, i will live with this forever
knowing I have a love so strong, that it defies time
even to my punishment of having
such a beautiful dream of the future
A dream i refuse to let go of
