New Love
Alone in this world, so brand new
So unused to the sky being so blue
I miss being able to call someone my own
But I am glad his true colors were shown
Love is so painful when it is so wrong
I can't help feel foolish for holding on for so long
I can now have a new lover or two
I can heal and not be so very blue
Now in search of a new love
And I might have found a man who can handle a shove
Honest and reliable he is to a fault
And when he advances I no longer have to scream halt
New love is like a budding rose, so easy to crush
But, Oh, so worth the mind altering rush
I need someone who will stand his ground
And not be weakened by what goes around
I need a man, not a little toy
not a little immature boy
I want a man who can protect me
But need a man who will let me be
Who shares what I want from this life
So unused to the sky being so blue
