We Create Our Own Monsters; Self-Rejecting Perceptions

every 2am shadow dance      
i try and sit up,      
but slowly fold into myself      
nursing an ongoing insomnia with shaky hands      
adjacent the company of used needles      
tenuously connected to      
spattered spools of fraying thread      
from the repeated and futile attempts  
at surgically salvaging      
this chimeric malformation      
of an over-edited heart      
     
lately i've become more and more suspicious      
of it's ghoulish reanimation,      
rather than it's inevitable failure;      
legitimately tolerating much too much      
and aborting then evacuating itself      
from my inhospitable chest cavern
