Pastelion Nights
Streaks of pastel memories bleach the midnight air
Enchanting the dark with myths of honey-glazed chains
Braiding larkspur and lavender into its haunted lanes
Caging ribs of stone-cold lava into her stolen nightmare.
As delicate flakes of cyanide drip gently from the moon
And beads of wavy starlight paint rainbows in the trees
She slips veils under her skin to feel the blood-stained breeze
And tattoos dragons and destruction upon every golden bloom.
Mirrors of melting auroras drain galaxies into black ink
Brandishing wands of despair over every lead-infected thought
Fairydust and unicorn tears upon her weary eyelids blot
Blood-curdling incantations of a ripped-marble memory sink.
...and all the while her memories of the present
had stowed away into the desert...
