 i fell hard to her crushing pretensions
she struck low and serenaded my descent
my eyes had been closed to the spark of deceit
that ignited this fire of contempt

i asked if she knew what it meant to be betrayed
how it causes your memories to bleed
that when you suffocate slowly by humiliation
you feel pain just trying to breath

her unshielded show of apathetic repent
was the shrapnel that shredded my heart
i never considered that she'd be the one
who would smile as she ripped me apart

drinking the ghostwrites of yesterdays blues
i stare long at my heart's discontent
it's a love rotten print with no godly use
but to impart and impose loves dissent

now is the time to part ways with love
by removing myself from the frame
the few drops of truth in the cloudbursts of lies
say i've no heart left for that game

so i've gathered my memories and set them ablaze
to light the road that will turn my back to home
there'll be no one beside me the rest of the way
