Light my Fire

The inner light that shines from within us… can burn as bright as the stars  
An aura of sunshine like rays that blaze from our every pore  
It directs our paths like a beacon in all that we do, all that we are  
In smiles, laughter, kind deeds, care, concern and service  
Giving and sharing that flame with strangers, those we meet and have feelings for  
Sometime the light shines so brightly, it blinds us  
We fail to see that some will use our radiance for their own gain  
Some will try to abuse, will greedily take and take  
Never giving the fuel needed in return  
To ensure our fires continue to burn  
But rather they sinisterly silently try to dim it.  
Some of us go about on our day to days  
Not realizing our inner lighthouse has slowly faded away  
Until someone..somewhere.. with their torches bright  
Stir our embers buried beneath cold ashes  
Igniting the passions of our dusty synapsis  
Providing the kindling to our inner flame    
To peek out from the shadows and burn again.
