Love that Never was

following the curve
of my hand,
A bottle filled with Ink
The pen starts to cry
dripping on paper,
with every tear drop,
telling a beautiful story,
how your lips became the gun,
your smile was the trigger,
& your kisses were the bullets,
how I labeled you a killer,

inhaling your beauty,
drawn by your scent,
a feeling I couldn't describe,
how this poison you called love,
injected into my veins
hitting every line,
flowing deep within me,
I have nothing to fear,
your the only person
I trust and believe,
that can heal this black plague,

at first I thought
we could only be friends,
no words could describe
how beautiful she really is,
in picking someone
to fall in love with
she was first that came to mind
infatuated by her inner beauty
seeing past the flaws in her eyes

in need of another dose
keeping my mind sane
without her I started
to slowly go insane
this venom inside
killing me softly
every sunrise to sunset
always on my mind
more I see her
each day I can't resist
having a feeling
i didn't know exist
of her being the drug
I couldn't protest

the wall she built
slowly starts to crumble
peeling back every layer
of every emotion that's attached
with her heart wide open
in my heart I could finally see
two puzzle pieces that didn't match

with the ink running low
taking its toll the poison
starts to fade away
coming to a closure
in writing in my journal
starring out the window
of the woman I couldn't resist
was just me writing
filling the paper with every line
with thoughts of feeling
how she was the poison
of how it took over
all in my head
never having the courage
it was only a feeling because
it was love that never was
