When I gaze 'pon mind's flight...

      There once was a time...

thinking back?
childhood comes to mind

They were brothers, three...
traveled the streets sorta carefree

Free, from burdens most  kept repressed inside
     spoke not of pain,
instead  they hide- and seek

   Mother often had too much
on her plate,
yet always tried...

Still, they managed...somehow survived

Living in a city that had no pity
most of their crew, "true friends?" just a few...

   There once was a time...
n' we speak of it often

Thank the lord, we didn't end up
in a coffin, or jail (bail? HA!) pray tell

The days n' nights were filled
with such imagination n' adventure!

Tried so hard always, to deal
with other's censure

   Went about the days,
as we'd age to mature

lost a lot of loved ones...
so hard to endure

Though we made it through
me, n' them too...

Life held many a obstacle
I laugh now recalling,
when we couldn't even afford
a popscicle!

Yet our love for  each other
was so strong n' true

There was once was a time...
but now this time is new...

STILL, three brothers
somehow...together,
remain bonded, like glue....
