I feel it so deeply
All the emotions
As if
They were my own

I absorb it
I don't mean to
But it happens
I feel the layers you hide behind
Your words
They open doors
Doors of your heart
I'm sorry if that disturbs you.
Truth is, it's a gift,
And a curse

I understand more than you would ever know
When you describe things, I see them
When you tell me how you felt
My mind places me in your shoes
So please, believe me when I say
"I understand"

I don't control it
It doesn't control me
We live in unison
Accepting of each other

I can feel it all
Sometimes...emotions, they scream
They seep through
And I can't help but reach out
I was made to help
Made to care
Made to listen

I'll always be here
A friend I will be
Don't be afraid to talk to me
Strangers can become friends
