Wild & Free

I plunge in to history of me
wild, careless, and free
I went far and beyond
the depths of any sea
abandoned on the shore
for all to see

The loss of my childhood
womanhood swept from under me
wounded
afraid
the state protecting me

I strive for clearance
with the slashes that craved my soul
a flush of insecurities
it's taken a toll
on my sanity

All grown up
not to blinded to see
I have more to gain
with the life that was handed to me

I was dealt the mother card
not once but two plus three
A bounded wife I know I will be
for all eternity
I now stand tall with dignity
and
I'll continue on with making more history
