A Liar’s Fate

What I wouldn’t give
for a razor sharp knife
to broaden your vain
and venomous smile
slicing it neatly
from ear to ear
cutting matters between us clear.

What I wouldn’t give
for a needle and thread
to re-stitch together that gaping slit
that ripped apart seam, sanguine and wet
so you’ll never ever be able for sure
to lie through your teeth any more.
