Great soul

Maya Angelou has died and we mourn a great soul. Those of us who have read her poems and books know the phenomenal mind she has and know her journey has been one that is remarkable. While we flood our news feeds with her quotes, tributes to her and appreciation of her work; many of us continue to lead cliched lives that are a carbon copy of another. We praise a woman that stood out during her lifetime yet in our very attitudes and how we live our lives, we go against the work that she and countless others have put in place in the fight for equality for not only our skin colour but as people, as women, mothers etc. I applaud you Maya Angelou for your words have played their parts in inspiring me. "Phenomenal Woman", "The Strength of a Woman are among favorites from you. Your life story gives me strength to push on a midst my battles." ...You were truly a phenomenal woman, phenomenal woman you were...!"
