FAR AWAY  GONE AGAIN     (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; April, 1989)

halogen lights

on dusty

cobblestones

alcohol doesnt

bring me home

it only cracks

me open  wider

life and death

and rooster crows

thoughts in minds

and words off

tongues that hid

like bats

in caves today

now rise

like moths from

sun bleached bones

to lure me

off into this

tropic night

where perceptions

fly away

ever further

into deeper

useless stupor

of far away

flown away

lost again

gone
