Philosophers

As we sat in the silence and talked,
No, wait, that's impossible.
The moonlight arrested our house
And you became a vessel.

"How can death be a part of life,
If it's the end of it?" You said.
"Once you finish something, it's done.
Once a moment passes, it's gone.
Death is only a part of life for
those who believe in rebirth.
Some say we only live once,
Yet they don't try to make the most of it."

Sing these bittersweet thoughts to me and
Pour me a little more coffee.
Yesterday we were clipping news papers.
Tonight we are philosophers.
