Once I Lived (Competition of Homeless)

As I wonder
in the cold weather
what it be like to relive
that warm feeling of home
to sit down with my cup of coffee
to feel loved once more
as I scroll through trash
looking for newspaper to keep me warm
I reminisce about the glory days
when I was soldier in infantry division
and how honorable I was in my rank
but destiny had a different plan for me
people pass by and ignore my existence
like a hungry dog in the street
just looking for something to eat
Who are you to judge me?
Do you feel no pity?
Tragedy killed my soul
left me empty with anger and remorse
took everything precious to me
a car accident took my family away
leaving me to deal with grief
beyond my understanding
Why me?
Why not take me?
Why torment me with this agony?
I wake up in a corner
living my past over and over again
laughing with my best friend bacardi
and the beautiful moments I once lived.
