The American WAY

I smile because they told me too
I laugh because I’m supposed to
I go to school because it’s THE AMERICAN WAY
To succeed and be what they tell you to be
As children they say go to school and graduate
Go to college and graduate they say
Get married have kids they say
That is “THE AMERICAN WAY”
But what is our way, our dream
Our meaning of life
If we don’t follow The AMERICAN WAY
We become bums to everyone we know and love
Except the man above
