The Truth

As you watched me fall
I saw you more clearly
I thought I felt pain
Until I watched you die
The person I once knew
Is no longer who you are
The future I once built
Is forever gone

The change I didn't notice
At least, not at first
Though I blamed myself
I realize it was you
The hearts that were broken
They couldn't be helped
The words that were once spoken
I now keep them to myself
