Daily Dose
Loneliness is an unmercifully drug
Unwillingly taken day to day.
One however, grown accustomed to,
And swallowed with the bile.
I hadn't always taken a daily dose,
Once I was healthy and belonged.
The world was a friend,
And I fit so well within it.
Year by year had gone by,
Belonging became aloof,
Friends became strangers,
Lovers - superficial.
So I swallow my daily dose,
Of loneliness.
Unable to escape doctor day,
Clouded in gray.
Unwillingly taken day to day.
One however, grown accustomed to,
And swallowed with the bile.
I hadn't always taken a daily dose,
Once I was healthy and belonged.
The world was a friend,
And I fit so well within it.
Year by year had gone by,
Belonging became aloof,
Friends became strangers,
Lovers - superficial.
So I swallow my daily dose,
Of loneliness.
Unable to escape doctor day,
Clouded in gray.
