After dinner

Walking though,
The outdoor courtyard at the mall,
After dinner.

Saw a couple from the same restaurant,
They had eaten at,
The next table.

During dinner,
She was clearly,
Tense,
Upset,
Angry.

She stabbed at her food,
Stirred it around,
She ate only a little.

His eyes were focused,
On his plate,
He ate mechanically.

Never heard what was said,
But the visuals,
Were heated.

Now,
She leaned in to kiss him,
One hand on each side of his face,
Said,
“That’s for the good parts.”

Then a knee to the groin,
Her hands held him up,
By his ears,
Said,
“That’s for the rest of it.”

Swung her open hand,
Struck across his face,
A slap heard across the court,
Nearly knocking him off his feet,
Said,
“And, that’s, Good-Bye.”

She left him bent over,
Nearly double,
Legs pinched together,
One hand holding his crotch,
The other hand to his face.

Walked on by me,
Smiling,
Said,
“Trusting him was my mistake.
Treating me like he did was his.”
