The man who was living in Dreams

I must commit a silent suicide
to wake me from this sleep...
So I drag my feet to the mirror,
A place I hope can set me free.
As my fingers grasp the sink,
I lower my head and pray for peace,
With a tear of pain in every blink.
But my heart is a gaping hole,
A cavity where regret extinguishes coal.
When memories are lost, and faith is forgotten,
I turn to Drugs to make me whole....
To make me feel...
To make me numb...
To let me know a façade of love...
To try and forget what I remember
To fight for myself as an enslaved contender.
But I am afraid of what I have realized...
What these pills have made me idolize...
They let me whisper,
And they let me scream...
But as I stare at the lonesome, heartless shadow in the mirror,
I realize I am just a man,
Who is living in lost and forgotten dreams.
